Why mould keeps coming back
Mould grows where moisture stays on a surface. In many homes that means shower corners, silicone, bathroom ceilings, window frames and cold south-facing rooms. Cleaning removes what you can see, but it will often return if the room stays damp.
Keep it down between cleans
- Run the extractor fan or open a window during and after showers.
- Wipe condensation off windows and frames in the morning.
- Keep furniture slightly away from cold outside walls.
- Use steady heating where you can, because cold surfaces collect moisture.
When a professional clean helps
A deep clean can make sense if mould has built up on ceilings, shower corners or tile grout, or if you need the home ready for a move or sale. We treat what is on the surface and tell you what we can see.
When to call someone else
Talk to a builder, plumber or your landlord if mould returns quickly in one spot, the wall feels wet, paint is bubbling or there is a musty smell with no obvious source. These can be signs of a leak or moisture problem that cleaning won't fix. If anyone in the home has health concerns, speak to a doctor.
